Hair Laser Removal

Laser treatments reduce unwanted hair permanently for all skin types. Laser hair removal treatments work by impairing the growth capacity of hair follicles. Hair grows in three phases and can only be damaged during active phase. Not all follicles are active at the same time and several treatments every few weeks may be necessary to obtain the desired results. Hair density, hormone fluctuation, and age can also affect results.

Topical anesthetic is generally used for patient comfort. Treatments can take 5 to 30 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated. Most patients experience considerable hair reduction after 4 to 7 treatments. In the weeks following the treatment, hair may appear unchanged, however, affected hairs are lifeless and will fall out with time. Sun exposure should be avoided for at least one week after the treatment. Sunscreen and make-up may be applied immediately after the treatment.
